Mixing WORK with pleasure

There's a big difference between getting your kit off for your husband (or at the time boyfriend) in the privacy of your own home (or wherever you chose to do it.....) and stripping down to your bare essentials in front of him with an audience of seven watching on. This was one of the first shoots Georges and I did together after coming out to the world that we were officially an item. I could feel everyones eyes honing in on us. Trying to keep it professional in a room full of friendly smirks and cheeky whisperings didn’t make standing in my undies any less awkward than it already can be.

We shot in a beautiful, modern home up in Dover Heights and spent most of the day rolling around on the bedroom floor and between the bedsheets………..All nine of us.

I used to find taking direction from Georges from behind the camera quite challenging and daunting. I think when you work with someone that you’re so close to there’s a pressure to perform and to not let them down. It’s like the expectations have already been set so living up to them just adds to that pressure. My style of modelling and his style of photography didn’t seem to gel well in the early days but now if we ever have the pleasure of shooting together there’s an unspoken harmony as I know what he wants and he knows how I work. Since this job we have worked together for brands including Stylerunner, Sportsgirl, JAG and Cooper St Clothing…….lucky him.

This was one of my first major Australian campaigns for one of the countries most prestigious brands. It was also the first time I had my face…………and boobs, plastered all over the cities buses and bus stops. It was a real pinch me moment and made even more special that the photos were taken by my now hubby.

Spot the difference. Above Vs Below. Real cleavage Vs Retouched cleavage. Just a gentle reminder that what you see in advertising and social media is not always a true representation of real life. But funnily enough, and if I’m being completely honest, I prefer my boobs au naturale.
